Filipino-Mexican Jessica Sanchez hopes of being the 2012 American Idol is still alive.
With some 58 million votes cast, Elise Testone was eliminated from the contest. She sang Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love" as her exit song. Joining her at the bottom three was Hollie Cavanagh and Skylar Laine.
The 5 remaining idol hopefuls are (in no particular order):
1. Phillip Phillips
2. Jessica Sanchez
3. Skylar Laine
4. Joshua Ledet
5. Hollie Cavanagh
Sanchez dedicated her choice song, the Luther Vandross ballad "Dance with My Father," to her dad Gilbert, a member of the US Navy who has served tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan and will soon be deployed to Singapore.
Jessica's mother, Editha Bugay, a Filipina who hails from Samal, Bataan province.
